Experience Japanese Traditional Dance Class in Kyoto
When you visit Kyoto, why not try Japanese Traditional Dance?
In a beautiful northern suburb of Kyoto, you will experience a Japanese traditional dance, "Four Seasons of Kyoto," which depicts Kyoto's scenery in all four seasons.
In the session, you will first learn the brief explanation about Japanese traditional dance and the background history and philosophy.
Then you will wear a Japanese yukata or kimono and practice dance, "Four Seasons of Kyoto."
Yukata and a fan will be available to use during the lesson.
The class is a step-by-step instruction so beginners are all welcome!
If you want to take videos and photos of your dance, please bring your own camera and video.
Shizu is a dancer of Japanese Traditional Dance. Shizu's dance classes are offered at her home studio in a quiet neighborhood of Iwakura, a northern suburb of Kyoto city.
Shizu became a Natori, or a licensed name holder of the school of Seiha Wakayagi in 2014, and has earned her stage name, Shizu Wakayagi.
Shizu also has a master's degree in Art Leadership from the Seattle University, and a certificate of graduate studies in Expressive Arts from the European Graduate School in Switzerland.
